Edwin Heath Cold Case Homicide

May 13, 2015

Case Number: 32-15-046554

Victim: Edwin J. Heath, Sr., 33-year-old Male

Murdered on: Wednesday, May 13, 2015

Location: 149 Antlers Lane Bear, De 19701

Investigation Details:
On Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at approximately 4:12 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Antlers Lane in the community of Fox Run Apartments & Townhouses.

Edwin was discovered lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers arrived on the scene and provided first-aid, but Edwin was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A male subject was seen fleeing the scene on foot towards Route 40 (Pulaski Highway), which is just outside the complex. The suspect was described as a black male in his mid-20’s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches and 180 pounds, thin build wearing dark pants, a light in color sweatshirt.

Location: 7 Amstel Drive, Apartment 33 (William Penn Village Apartments), New Castle, DE

Investigation Details:

On Wednesday, February 11th, 2015, at approximately 7:00 A.M., police responded to a shooting at 7 Amstel Drive, Apartment 33 (William Penn Village Apartments), New Castle, DE.

The victim was discovered inside the apartment, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim died at the scene.

Nicholas Riley Cold Case Homicide
December 20, 2014

Victim: Nicholas “Nick” Riley, 30-year-old Male

Murdered on: Saturday, December 20, 2014

Location: 67 Lowery Drive Wilmington, DE 19808

Investigation Details:
On Saturday, December 20th, 2014 at approximately 12:43p.m., police responded to the area of 67 Lowery Drive in the Woodland Apartments Complex for a report of a suspicious vehicle which was occupied by two males.
Officers arrived on scene and found one victim (Nicholas Riley), deceased from a gunshot wound. The other male was also located and transported to the Christiana Hospital where he was listed in critical condition and later survived.

Ruben Maldonado Cold Case Homicide

Victim: Ruben Maldonado, 46-year-old male

Murdered on: Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

Location: 758 Christiana Road Newark, DE 19713

Investigation Details:
On Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 at approximately 11:14 p.m., police responded to
a shooting in the area of 758 Christiana Road, Cedar Wood Apartments in Newark, Delaware. The victim was discovered lying on the ground motionless while in front of a building. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead as a result of a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Police are investigating robbery as a possible motive. A witness was able to assist Police with the construction of a composite sketch of the possible suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male 5’7 to 5’10” tall, who had dark complexion and weighed approximately 200 lbs.

Peter Di Sabatino Cold Case Homicide

On Monday, November 12, 2012, at approximately 9:20 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the area of 211 Thorn Lane, Studio Green Apartments in Newark Delaware.

The victim was discovered lying on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he died shortly after arrival.

The suspects are described as two black males, one of which is wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and the other a black hooded sweatshirt.

Wilmington Police Cold Case Unit requests public assistance in connection to 2005 murder of Quinnell Hayes:

The Wilmington Police Department’s Cold Case Unit is asking for the assistance of the public in connection to the 2005 murder of Quinnell Hayes.

 

On June 27, 2005 around midnight, police responded to the 200 block of West 31st Street in response to a shooting incident that had occurred. Officers located Mr. Quinnell Hayes, who had been shot and later succumbed to his injuries.

This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators are asking the public for assistance.

The victim was found deceased in her apartment by a roommate. The investigation reveals that the victim died of blunt force trauma to the head. The victim’s purse was discovered missing although robbery does not appear to be a motive.

John Paul Cook Cold Case Homicide
September 21, 1996

Victim: John Paul Cook, 37-year-old male

Murdered on: Saturday, September 21, 1996

Location: 5 Ashkirk Place Newark, De 19702

Investigation Details:

The victim, along with his girlfriend and son were in the residence. At approximately 8:30 pm, the suspects came in the front door of the residence and confronted the victims. The child received non-life threatening injuries. After a struggle, the victim was shot multiple times causing his death.

Jane Prichard Cold Case Homicide September 30, 1986

Case Number: 32-86-065977

Jane Prichard was a student at the University of Maryland and was obtaining her Master’s degree. She was conducting botany experiments in Blackbird Forest State Park where she was later found by two campers on the evening of September 20, 1986.

Detectives learned Jane was shot with an unknown weapon which caused her death. She was last seen alive by a hunter shortly after 10 am. The hunter provided detectives with specific descriptions of Jane`s clothing, vehicle, and scientific equipment.

Investigation Details:

The victim’s badly decomposing body was located by a passerby on the side of the road in a drainage ditch. The victim is described as a white female, approximately 45 years of age, 5’3” to 5’6” with blond or light brown hair. The victim’s death has been ruled a homicide.
